The Ocean Grove Youth Temple

By 1877 there was also another tent used for religious purposes called “Dr. Ward’s tent”. It was donated by Dr. Reznor Ward, and was located north of the Auditorium. This is where the Young People meetings were originally held.

A permanent building was erected in 1879. Immediately it was found to be too small. It was enlarged three times but was still too small. A much larger Young People’s Temple was dedicated August 1, 1887, capable of seating 1,500. That building burned in June 1975.

In 1999 the current Youth Temple was dedicated.

The Association’s summer program includes an extensive dramatics program for youth. Teenagers put on a musical variety show with singing and dancing and the younger children put on a musical play. Ocean Grove offers great opportunities for youth, spiritually, culturally, dramatically, socially, and economically because of the availability of summer jobs.
